I subscribe to the Harris Poll online (there's a sweepstakes entry) and this week's poll is on what oil you use, where you see oil advertised, name the oil commercial, would you use a quick lube, etc..

Sign up and maybe the oil companies can get REAL opinions.

Sorry if this is the wrong forum for this. Didn't know quite where to put it.

You can sign up for the polls ..as in subscribe ..but I don't think you can just pop into their site and participate. I fill them out ..you get points for doing it and you can redeem the points for items from a catalog. For the 5 minutes a month it's not too bad. Harris polls

Sorry, I figured it wasn't hard to google Harris poll online! LOL. Yeah, I didn't mean to give the impression it's just a link to a poll. You sign up and they send a poll every week and you get sweepstakes entries if you want. They do a lot on automotive, consumer goods, and food it seems.

I haven't gotten the one on oil yet. They'll remind me if I trashcanned it by accident.

The only thing is that I find them "cattle chuting" you into responses that aren't necessarily conforming to your desires.

Like:

choice one: I like having information available to me.
choice two: I feel overwelmed with information overload.

What if you feel both

choice three: I feel overwelmed with all the information out there, but I'm glad that it's available.

..just isn't there

I haven't seen one on oil yet. Yikes, with 3 or more BITOGers in the sample, how representative can it be? Will GC even be one of the choices? I am sure my Pennzoil will be there. Maybe they don't send them all to everybody.

Did anyone get the one on socks a year or 2 ago? Couldn't believe it. I think I spent over an hour on it. Couldn't believe some of the choices. ''The right pair of socks really sets off my outfit.'' It was a real endurance test for this retrosexual.

Got some neat stuff with Hipoints, a Belkin 5 button optical mouse and a Milwaukee cordless screwdriver. Have about 3000 points now. Didn't see much I wanted last time. Maybe I could cash some in for Christmas presents.

The choices were the biggies: Mobil/M1, Penzoil, Castrol, Havoline, Quakerstate, and Valvoline. They asked me if you've seen commercials for M1 Ep, QS Advanced, and Penzoil Plat. It only took about 10-15 minutes
