I haven't bought a quart of oil in about 6 months. I'm not buying any until I use the 20 or so quarts that I have on hand.

Wow, that was a relief.

hehe, I don't plan on buying oil until my truck hits 83K miles. Currently have 77K on it. Changed oil on it at 73K. So far, most of those miles have been highway. Good luck,,,op

I am dying for an excuse to buy more oil, but I have around 50L lying around.

I really wish I put more miles on my vehicles, that would justify more UOA's, more oil, and more oil changes. Thankfully, my wife racks up the miles fairly quickly on her car....but the wait is agonizing.

...yes, I'm sick.

congratulations, I did the same thing. I sworn off buying oil, then I see a screamin deal and buy more. The longest I've put it off is maybe 3 months. I've got 107 qts. 3-4 yrs worth.

Don't worry, others are just getting the addiction. I've been on this site for more than 2 years and excercised excellant self control and just used it for a question here or there. Since I got another Saab (this one w/ a sludge rep) I have been on here more and more and buying more and more oil! I'm up to about 70 quarts or so...

I don't understand what this post is about?

The thread-starter is obviously having 'withdrawl symptoms" associated with overpurchasing oils. This is typical of OPAA members (Oil Purchasers Abusers Annonymous) that must gather monthly at a round-table to discuss their addiction/affliction.

Withdrawals..Nah, it's all in the mind..and numbers.

See the way I look at it, my stash(of 255qts), I think in barrels..

Heck, I only got 1 1/2 barrels of motor oil sitting in my garage.
grin.gif

Other than GC, my stash will be gone in a year. I had to hand off some 10w-40 Syntec Blend and some 10w-40 DCO+ to get rid of it...(MIL and nephew) but my Chevron/Havoline Synth will go into the Honda (Mobil 1 0w-30 leftovers for afterwards) And I have some Syntec Blend, MaxLife synth, and Delo for the summer to go into my car...pushing 9 years old...GC afterwards, but is it worth putting GC in an OLD car?

Oh, I like this...

So, My 350 quarts is really 87.5 gallons. And a barrel is 55 gallons so I have LESS than 2!

(Honey, I have to go buy more .49 cent a quart Chevron because I've got less than 2 left!)

Hmmm,

I have 1qt of GC with Vavoline 10w40 mixed in it for the lawnmower, 1/2qt of Rotella 10w30 and 1/2 qt of Chevron 10w30, does my little stash count for anything? lol

op

You guys measure in barrels ..I measure in years. I think that I've only got 3 or so years in my strategic oil reserve. By then, the way it's been going, I figure that we'll be at SP]/b] or SQ oil by then

You bet it does!

Your stash is right about .0119th of a barrel..

Bill, I could still shoot for 4 more cases then..and it would still be less than 2 barrels.

Gary,

But I'd bet your SP or SQ oils will not be costing .49 cents a quart like alot of my stash has...
grin.gif

And my SL and SM are good oils for the outfits that I service...

Take care, Bill

Oil is good.. Esp at under a $1 a quart.. At .49 cents a quart.. I'm sure there is a law I'd be breaking if I did NOT buy some....

Just when I thought I might be getting better and then this barrel stuff. 55 gallons, eh? I have 192 quarts. Lets see, that's only 48 gallons. Only 28 quarts and I can join the one barrel club. Ohhhhhh, I do hope AutoZone has some more clearances this winter.

This is sick, Ya'll are sick, it's contagious.. I need to buy a house soon so I can start stashing again. I have no oil changes in reserve!!

No one can call theirs a Strategic Petroleum Reserve until one reaches the milestone One Barrel Club.

Well I have 5 quarts of GC which is for my son's car. I have around 15 Quarts of RL which will be used strictly for additives. And the 15 quarts of Dino (Motorcraft and Havoline will go into my Daughter's Pontiac and my Toyota)

So even with this reserve..I need to buy 3 quarts of Mobil 1 for my next oil change for my Sentra.
