    Amsoil question

If I run 12,000 miles per year in Florida could I really just go 1 year between changes and trust it with out an uoa? I see just how packed full of TBN and other good chemistry Amsoil is and I hear the hype about driving 1 year on an oil change but is it really just that easy?

    How do they do it

Ok so here is th link https://mobiloil.com/en/article/why-the-...lts-mobil-super Mobil runs some cars 100,000 miles using 25,000 mile oil change intervals with a 1,500 lb load and at least 1 qt low and they get no sludge or damage. On the other hand we all hear about how this car and that car...

Is this who makes Honda DW-1?

I was trying to find some real data on the Honda DW1 fluid like viscosity and VI, Flash point and I ran into this company. They make a product with DW-1 right on the front label and even list the various Honda part numbers all over the place. Does anyone know anything about them and if so could...

    Havoline or MS5K

As you likely noticed my string about Havoline recently and I can only imagine that you, like me are considering the two because they are value priced at your local big box store. I used MSHM in my last fill with the Altima and as I have already commented based solely on the fact that Havoline...

    Thank you Havoline

I just emailed Chevron and expressed my positive experience with their website and the data they presented. I asked that they make every API SN oil test and its respective data for performance available and that I would share it here if they did. It will be interesting to see if they respond.

    Thank you Havoline

100%, otherwise we just have people making crazy statements that don't mean anything. We all know they all have this data and know exactly how their formulation stacks up against the industry standards..... If you want to claim Dexos 1 than show us the additional Dexos 1 tests and the % by witch...

    Thank you Havoline

Totally. Just being willing to put your number up and stand behind it for what you charge now that's testing I think we could all get behind. What if you had to report how your formulation in its current configuration performed against the standard? I know it's never going to happen but until...

    Thank you Havoline

On Havolines website they list under the why Havoline tab various API SN qualification tests (listed below) and in a nice turn of honesty they list by what % they meet or exceed the standard API base. I just feel this is refreshingly honest and gives you a real idea of what you can expect...

Anyone still a fan of Maxlife?

Anyone still a fan of Valvoline Maxlife. Anyone have it do anything special for them like slow a leak or turn a great UOA? And by the way I used my first run of it today and liked that it had a seal under the cap that was easy to removable with three nice tabs to help out along the rim. I know...
