46 Years Old Boeing 727 in Africa- Nice watch if you are inside this weekend because of cold

It's nice enough/warm enough here that I'd be out on the motorcycle today and tomorrow.... except that the roads are white with salt. :(

    Baffling electrical issue

Just swap it with another breaker of the same amperage. If the problem moves to the new circuit, then there's your problem. Then spend the $8 to replace it.

    Baffling electrical issue

If there was enough movement from a 40 mph wind gust to jostle Romex enough to re-establish a connection inside of a wire nut.... you'd feel your house moving when the wind blows. Did anyone happen to verify that all of the lights were still inop when the electricians left?

Same here. It's been a year or three.... but no issues at all, and will buy from them again.

What’s your “sweet spot” for used car purchases?

Mine was the rule of 7's... 7 years old 70,000 miles $7,000. Those days are gone. :(

Video - capture of truck on runaway ramp

Has anyone else watched a train derail... actually see it come off of the tracks and end up on the ground? That's pretty much a once in a lifetime event. I've seen it. The spikes pulled up on about five ties, and allowed one rail to move outward. Once that happens, it is all over.

Video - capture of truck on runaway ramp

Good thing was.... he realized that he was otherwise screwed and was smart enough to take it.

    Remanufactured engine purchasing

The shop was finally provided an engine that seems to run properly, if that's what you mean by "corrected". However, this last engine is shedding a high amount of lead during even relatively short OCIs, and this is clearly shown in UOAs. One Jasper engine had a collapsed lifter. One...

Giving Chinese tires a shot....Zenna Sport Line

Just installed some Crossmax CT-1 tires on a high mileage car. These have quite a bit of Michelin-style siping in the blocks. Had some Milestar MS932's on it, which ended up being a 35,000 mile disappointment.

    Remanufactured engine purchasing

Here's a first hand review: I found out the hard way that Jasper struggles to reliably rebuild something as common as a GM 5.3 engine. Went through 3 of them (under warranty) in less than one year. All work was performed by an authorized Jasper installer.

Jay Leno needs a better guardian angel to watch over him... this time, fell down a 60 foot hill.

A guardian angel is to protect you from spirtual and physical harm.

Jay Leno needs a better guardian angel to watch over him... this time, fell down a 60 foot hill.

This is what... his fourth accident in two years? Jay Leno insists he is "holding up fine" after taking a nasty fall outside his hotel. The comedian told ‘Inside Edition’ he broke his wrist, sustained significant bruising on his face and body, and lost a fingernail after falling down a rocky...

Regarding the Dukes of Hazzard picture (post 19760). Read up on Boss Hogg (Sorrell Booke). He led a very interesting life. Enrolled at Columbia University at 16, served in the military in counter-intelligence, fluent in several languages...

Placed an online order with Menard's... probably will never do that again.

Never mind that I chose/paid for "Ground" shipping, but was stuck with "Priority" Mail by Menards. So some of it IS on them. UPS/FedEx Ground would have got it here in 2 days, not 5. Also, published rates... and the rate that a large customer pays... are often two very different amounts.

My sister *and* the police, both unknowingly walked in on a robbery in progress.

Saw the police report last week. Both were charged with theft, and both had drugs on them... they were charged with that as well. Imagine that.
