Jay Leno insists he is "holding up fine" after taking a nasty fall outside his hotel.

The comedian told ‘Inside Edition’ he broke his wrist, sustained significant bruising on his face and body, and lost a fingernail after falling down a rocky 60 foot hill.

Leno covered up his black eye with an eye patch as he arrived at Monday's Comedy for Koby event in Beverly Hills. "I was staying at a hotel that was on a hill," Leno explained to TMZ. "The restaurant was [at the bottom], but I didn't have a car. To get to it, you had to walk about a mile and a half around."

The "Jay Leno's Garage" star chose to take a shortcut. Instead of making it down, Leno "rolled down the hill" and hit his head on a rock. The comedian also showed off his black eye under his eye patch.

See the deep purple color of Jay's face?

When in high school, a friend's father fell 30' off a straight ladder.
He landed on his left side. From thigh to armpit to the underside of his upper arm, he was much deeper purple.
His face only caught a bit of it.
Be careful.

Accidents happen in threes? He can hope there’s some truth to that saying.
Burnt by Stanley Steamer, crashed motorcycle, now this.

Jay Leno is still just a big kid who grew up to amass a fabulous collection of toys.

Bypassing the long way, and taking a shortcut works out better when you're a spry young fellow running around with your buddies…than it does when your an old guy.

Ow! Take it easy, Jay! On a slightly humorous note, he could probably get a few laughs if he started saying he works for S.P.E.C.T.R.E. and he's looking for Mr. Bond.
And that's why he's a successful comedian and you're posting bad jokes on BITOG <that's my bad joke>.

Yeah, Jay hasn't looked healthy in the last few years. He seems to be aging very quickly.

He still has a very good memory. If you watch his channel he still knows tons of facts about his gigantic collection. He still performs. Not bad for 74.

He's out there living life.
Agree. But he is at the age where one has to be careful Read a sober statistic-

One in three adults aged 50 and over dies within 12 months of suffering a hip fracture. Older adults have a five-to-eight times higher risk of dying within the first three months of a hip fracture compared to those without a hip fracture. This increased risk of death remains for almost ten years.
