I ran GC in our ES 330 and it felt more sluggish until it was up to operating temps. In the Texas summer I really liked it but in our mild winter it felt a bit thick. I am running PP 5w30 now and it feels just right.
I guess its the auto tranny that i really dislike when driving in the mountains. When I have made the trips with a 5 speed I can control the gears and avoid the auto tranny wanting to jump around. Dropping out of OD helps
I just got back from taking the family out to Colorado for spring break. We live in Texas and don't have the inclines that we see when we go west for vacations. Getting up into the Rockies leaving Denver my Tacoma (3.4 v6) prefers it if I drop out of OD. Is climbing these steep grades harder on...
My wife drives an 04 ES330 which has the 3.3 with 5sp AT. The tranny issue is very well known and talked about over on the Lexus boards. There is a "fix" available but once they perform it there is no way to undo it. Opinions are mixed if its any better after the fix. I have just learned to deal...
I have the same motor in my wife's 04 Lexus ES330. Currently running PP 5w30 and its real smooth and stays clean at 5K intervals. When warranty is up I will run it longer.
GC is a great oil. At colder temps my taco seemed sluggish until warmed up. I don't notice this with 5w30 oils like PP and mobil 1. This could just be psychological. In the summer time it really felt smooth right at startup.
My buddy has used Ken's Mufflers for his flowmaster. I have not used them but my buddy said they did a good job for him. I believe they have a couple locations around them metroplex.

Even if it is overkill, drain and fills are simple and cheap. IMHO changing out the tranny fluid is the one thing you can do to extend the life of the tranny. Next steps would be for an inline filter and cooler. But again its all cheap insurance for me and I think the tranny will last longer. I...
T IV is required for both my wifes 04 ES330 and my 03 Tacoma. I have debated using other fluids but its just not worth the risk to me. I get T IV for $4 a quart and just do drain and fills of the pan once or twice a year on both vehicles. I used Amsoil ATF on my last Tacoma and was really...
My wife rides a Kymco scooter. I believe the manual states to use a 15w40. I have been running Amsoil 10w40 with good results. I like the idea of a synthetic in this air cooled motor becuase it gets run pretty hard (hig revving)and its HOT in Texas a good portion of the year.
Hey Arb where are you at in Texas? I am in the metroplex and am interested in your suspension. If we are close I would like to check it out sometime if possible. I have an 03 dubcab 4x4 TRD.
