    GC in my RX 330?

I ran GC in our ES 330 and it felt more sluggish until it was up to operating temps. In the Texas summer I really liked it but in our mild winter it felt a bit thick. I am running PP 5w30 now and it feels just right.

    mountain inclines?

I guess its the auto tranny that i really dislike when driving in the mountains. When I have made the trips with a 5 speed I can control the gears and avoid the auto tranny wanting to jump around. Dropping out of OD helps

    mountain inclines?

I just got back from taking the family out to Colorado for spring break. We live in Texas and don't have the inclines that we see when we go west for vacations. Getting up into the Rockies leaving Denver my Tacoma (3.4 v6) prefers it if I drop out of OD. Is climbing these steep grades harder on...

    2005 Camry Transmission flare?

My wife drives an 04 ES330 which has the 3.3 with 5sp AT. The tranny issue is very well known and talked about over on the Lexus boards. There is a "fix" available but once they perform it there is no way to undo it. Opinions are mixed if its any better after the fix. I have just learned to deal...

    Recommendation Please: Toyota 3.3L

I have the same motor in my wife's 04 Lexus ES330. Currently running PP 5w30 and its real smooth and stays clean at 5K intervals. When warranty is up I will run it longer.

    GC 0w30 in a 01 toyota tacoma v6 4x4

GC is a great oil. At colder temps my taco seemed sluggish until warmed up. I don't notice this with 5w30 oils like PP and mobil 1. This could just be psychological. In the summer time it really felt smooth right at startup.

01 toyota tacoma v6 4x4 thinking about Mobil 1 oil

I am running PP in my 3.4 Taco and wife's 3.3 Lexus. Both motors seem to really like the PP. They both liked Mobil 1 also though.....

Is Toyota Type T IV Required?

Even if it is overkill, drain and fills are simple and cheap. IMHO changing out the tranny fluid is the one thing you can do to extend the life of the tranny. Next steps would be for an inline filter and cooler. But again its all cheap insurance for me and I think the tranny will last longer. I...

Is Toyota Type T IV Required?

T IV is required for both my wifes 04 ES330 and my 03 Tacoma. I have debated using other fluids but its just not worth the risk to me. I get T IV for $4 a quart and just do drain and fills of the pan once or twice a year on both vehicles. I used Amsoil ATF on my last Tacoma and was really...

How to choose 4T Scooter Motocycle's engine oil?

My wife rides a Kymco scooter. I believe the manual states to use a 15w40. I have been running Amsoil 10w40 with good results. I like the idea of a synthetic in this air cooled motor becuase it gets run pretty hard (hig revving)and its HOT in Texas a good portion of the year.

    independent import mech in DFW

Can anyone make a recvommendation for a good import mechanic in the metroplex? I am going to be needing the 60K on my 03 Tacoma and wifes 04 ES330. So far they have gone to the local Toyota dealership. But with the major maintinences (90K especially) I would like to find a independent. Thanks...

    04 ES330 60K maint

I am looking at reccomended maint for 60K on my wife's car. This is the 3mz-fe 3.3l with 5 sp AT. The tranny requires T-IV and I do a drain and fill of the pan with T-IV every other oil change. The manual has a line item for replace differntial oil if towing. I can't find whats recommeded...

    88 Mazda 323....worth a look?

My wife had this as her college car. 88 323 sedan with 5 speed. We drove it till the AC went out and I didn't want to replace it. Gets to hot in Texas for the kids in the back seat. I gave it to my BIL who is still driving it as his DD has over 250K on the clock now. We just got have from Europe...
