not if they settle to the bottom of the pan, and never get sucked up the pick up tube! Either way, the only benefit of the magnet in my opinion, is you can see the metal. otherwise it will go out in to the drain pan, or get stuck in the filter.
I like the sounds of the delvac oil too! I think it is on top right now. I will start with some 10w 30/40 mineral oil for the break in, then go on to the delvac.
I was thinking the same thing. I wasn't even going to acknowledge it. When I am done with my car, you are more than welcome to come take a ride in it. It sure isn't going to be a M5, but it will be a NICE car!
as of right now, It is just a Daily driver. I would love to get on a road coarse with it sometime though! The amsoil dominator, souds real nice. That is what I was looking for, a special oil for alcohol. But, I checked out the amsoil web site and I don't see anything about it being special for...
ok, I have a 99 neon with a 2.0 DOHC I have completely rebuilt it. It now has 11.5 to 1 compression and large cams, and I am running it on E85. what would be the best oil?
It is not a flex fuel vehicle. It is an E*% vehicle now. I installed 40% larger injectors and a fuel controller to tune with. It was not tuned exactly right at first. It was rich as [censored] for a while.
I had the head completely rebuilt 3500 miles ago, new valve seals. valve job, and resurfaced.
this may or may not be oil related... But what causes the sludge on the top of the valves in the intake side of the head? I have a rebuilt head I put on about 3500 miles ago, I am having bottom end engine problems now. Anyway, I am tearing it down, and there is quite a bit of sludge and gunk on...
well here is a little more info. I bought an engine that was rebuilt, then ran for 500 miles break in period buy this person. Then he raced, he rally raced, crashed his car after a weekend or two. The engine had 543 miles on it when I got it. I bought the short block form him, put my own head on...
I have a rebuilt engine, built by a professional well known shop. It is a neon engine, that was rebuilt right. Forged internals, had everything resurfaced and honed. The point is, it was done right. How long will break in debris, be in the oil?
as far as the air filter goes. with a fuel injected engine, the air filter will NOT make a difference. Unlike carborated cars of ancient times. Fuel injected cars adjust the amount of fuel to match the amount of air coming in. Most cars, will always maintain a set A/F ratio (somewhere around...
