Works good for me, it usally ends up around 6000-9000 KMs. I think it does a way better job then the oil life monitor in my Grand Prix GTP. The Honda is fine machine.
In Medicine Hat, Alberta we have a Napa that stocks AMSOIL. I get a discount from Napa because we buy all our parts from them. It works out to about $7.50/L Cnd for the XL 5W-20. Plus then I pick up a Napa Gold Oil filter at a discount.
The switch is because I get AMSOIL XL for the same price as the Mobil 1. Plus I would like to try the AMSOIL 0W-20 for the next Oil Change for our Candain Winters.
First off I would like to thank everyone for all the info you have helped with. Tomorrow I am going to drain the Mobil 1. The Honda oil life indicater is at 10%. I have choose to go with AMSOIL XL 5W-20 for this oil change. I was going to try there new 0w-20 but figured that will be the next Oil...
I have worked in the Oil Field all over Alberta. I see how the oil looks before it is refined. I have been covered head to toe with Crude Oil. In general it stinks and is really sticky. I guess its been underground for a million years so thats no surprise. I also work on a lot of natural gas...
Before I got addicted to BITOG I used to take my 01 Grand Prix GTP to the local GM Dealership. I asked what kind of oil they used and they said Petro-Canada oil. They tried to tell me that all there vehicles came from the Factory with Petro-Canada as the Factory Fill. Maybe thats only in CANADA.
In Canada we can get Petro-Canada Arctic 0w-30. Its a synthetic motor oil made for Canadain Winters. Just go to a Bulk station and ask them for it. I live in Alberta and just put in some Pennzoil Platinum 5w-30 in my Hemi Truck. It was -29c last night and it started no problem. I was considering...
I have been on this site now for about 2 months. I am currently running M1 5w20 in my 06 Accord 2.4L. for the Winter. I learned so much from this site. This summer I am going to go back to a Dino. It is either going to be Castrol GTX or Petro-Can 5w20. Then next winter I am going to try Amsoil...
No its a 04 Hemi Ram without the MDS. At the time Chrylser wanted 5w-30 used. Its got 80Km on it. I am just going to use PP 5w-30 this time. Maybe next time I will try something differnt.
Would the Delvac 1 be too thick to run in my Hemi?? Maybe next summer that is what I should try?? As of now I am going to just use PP and start getting UOA done. I also thought of running really short OCI with some cheap Dino oil.
If I thought I needed autorx I would order it. I just dont think I need it. I guess I will be sticking with the PP for the Oil Change. I bought 4 jugs of PP at Canadian tire last week. I thought maybe I should put in a litre of RedLine to help clean. Most of the 80KM are Highway.
No I wont use Auto-Rx. I live in canada and dont want to have to order something. I thought about Redline because I can just go to the store and buy it. Maybe PP will be strong enough to clean it up. Its used Dino its whole life.
I am going to give my truck an Oil Change today. Would adding one litre of Redline oil help as a cleaner. I am going to be useing PP 5w-30 and a wix filter. I dont trust the quik engine flushes. I keep reading how Redline is such a good cleaner as a oil. Do you think it would help me??
The...
Do you have to mix 50/50 Syn/Dino?? I just bought some PP 5w-30 from Canadian Tire and was going to mix it with dino Penzoil 5w-20. I wanted to run 80%PP/20% dino in my Hemi. I hope this works with no problems.
