The leak was probably from the base crimp seal, not the rubber gasket. I've never had any filter leak at the base gasket, regardless of brand or gasket design.

Thanks for all the C&Ps Stude.

If you cut open a used one I wouldnt see the waste of a good filter.

That's all.

Thanks for the C&P!

Not sure why people get so hung up on what others do with their own hard-earned money.

OP:
You are posting on a public forum. You'll experience all kinds of feedback. How you respond is a public gage of your intellect and personality - or maybe just mood for the day

Many Years ago, I cut open and posted here a respected Federated Hastings Filter sourced for a Toyota and found it to be seriously lacking in filter area and pleat count.

That was one to avoid for sure.

My point, possibly made poorly and in haste, was that Premium brands top of the line have usually nothing to show from a vivisection. The Filter media composition and performance is one of the most important aspects of a filter and it can't be measured from a photo.

Every 90 seconds in America a filter is aborted!

It was still on my wife's car and going down I-93 south at 75 MPH..

I got nasty scalds and burns on my arms and wicked road rash on my back.

That's why I'm against it for sure.

Check out this picture, it's been on NAPA's Canadian website since last November representing a NAPA "Gold" 7356 https://www.napacanada.com/en/p/NGF7356?interchange=1

It doesn't look anything like the NAPA gold filter's I've used from 2006 -2016.

I understand this is a fairly new part number but I'm pretty sure the first one I bought a couple of years ago was in a black & gold can with an orange/pink ADBV visible through the bottom?

Is this NAPA 7356 the real deal or just an Silver with a markup?

The 7356 you buy will have a silicone ADBV and a black can
