They were definitely 120bhp models. The PDi paperwork and Service Books were in the glove boxes and I read a couple out of curiosity.
It wouldn’t surprise me if the Fitter was talking rubbish!
For sure the GTX was a bad choice if that particular rumour was correct.
The lowest mileage before a rod coming through the block that I remember was around 3000miles, but that would have been over 12 weeks or 24/7 usage with long periods of idling.
They were a huge improvement over the 100bhp 2.0 DTI MK1 Zafiras that we had as a stop gap, well as far as smoothness and quietness goes. Apart from Turbos the 2.0 DTI was a strong engine. Hopelessly slow for a Fast Response Unit or Rapid Response Vehicle.
