Software for interior design.

I am looking for software to assist me in updating a room in my home. I need something that will allow me move shelves, TVs, chairs, sofas etc and do it to scale. I, of course, would like a free or low cost software program. Does anyone have hands-on experience with a program to recommend? Thanks so much. Ed HAyes

I'm sure there's free software out there but an easier way is to use Excel. Create a grid then add shapes to scale.

+1 on SketchUP. Great program and lots of tutorials out there. I use it for woodworking and general drawing.
