Blackstone's COMMENTS:

If you look up "steady" in the dictionary, there just might be a picture of these wear trends. It really doesn't get much steadier than this. Iron has fluctuated by only 2 ppm over three samples -- that's remarkable. Other metals are even steadier, though we do expect them to be a little steadier than iron (iron has a tendency to change a little more than other metals, depending on operational conditions). The TBN read 2.3, which is fine since 1.0 or less is low. This oil could see more use, if you wanted. It's holding up well. No problems here, at all! Nice trends!

I stocked up last year when Walmart had it on clearance. I had enough for this oil change and one more after that.

seems like it held up well.

the tbn was definitely proped up by the 1.6 top off.

what mileage did you add it at?

I'm going to disagree with blackstone and say you reached the limit. That oil is probably only good for 9000 oci in your engine without makeup oil.

still less than 1qt/5000miles isnt bad at all.

I think the 5.0 engine is fantastic. Your wear metals seem right in line with other postings.

I have a 5.0 in an F-150. As soon as the oil level goes down about a third of a quart I add the leftover .3 quart from the oil change and as soon as I hit the add mark I add a full quart. On a 10,000 mile drain this is still very little add oil but it replenishes any additives that may have been used up.

Impressive report. Is 10k the normal service interval or do you go by an olm? If the latter, what was it at?

Vis held up nicely.

What are the operation parameters? Mostly highway, city, driven hard, soft?

Thanks for posting.

Very nice. Adding make up oil does not diminish the report IMO, it just shows somebody who is paying attention to his car. Keep doing what you're doing!

Normal service interval is 10k, 1 year, or the IOLM. For me the IOLM reaches 0% just short of 10k. Last two changes occurred immediately following road trips. I did go a little over, but Ford says "An oil change service must be completed within 14 days or 500 miles after the OIL CHANGE REQUIRED display appears in the message center.", so I was within those limits.

This is my daily driver, I estimate 65-70% highway.

The viscosity I have for PU 5W20 is 8.4
