88.5k on the clock, unknown history. Varnish visible on dipstick.
I just did my first oil change on this motor. I just bought it a few weeks ago and decided to dump whatever the P.O had for oil in there, which came out looking dark.
Added 5 quarts + the A-RX. Bentley manual calls for 5.3 quarts, howto's on VW forums say 5.8 to 6 quarts.
I don't see a lot on the dipstick, so I'm letting things settle and drain into the pan before I decide to add anything more. The GTX is so lightly colored it's sort of hard to see.
