"We would have to spend considerably more money developing and tuning engine components to deliver the same performance boost achieved by simply switching to Mobil 1," said Yasou Tanaka, Technical Director, Mitsubishi Motors Motor Sports.

The Mitsubishi team first tested Mobil 1 in 2004, and recorded a power increase from their engine without changing any engine parts. The improved performance of the Lancer 05 WRC Rally car is in part due to a new engine for which the team tested a variety of Mobil 1 formulations.

I wonder what variety they tested and decided on using. Bet you cannot buy it off the shelf.

Scored a point on their first real competition. Last years two events were just to get the feet wet. This year they are trying to compete.

SX4 time!!!

No one's mentioned that Mitsu left WRC after 2005, but they still competed in Production (Grp-N) rally.

EVO VIII uses M1 10w30 as factory fill?!?!

I know that it'll have to pass CA emissions testing, not sure how that relates to the other 49 states...
I'm not getting my hopes up, for a Suzuki produced turbo'd SX4 version, but it could happen. It's amazing how fast theses things can change.
