If we compare the last periods of high inflation to today, we notice that home prices did slowly rise (stagnant with regard to inflation). However, inflation today is much more serious than in the past. Take a look here for home prices from 1960 on.

I bought a house in September 2019. The house has increased in value by 40.5%.
Bought ours in December but similar story here, similar homes in my area are selling for $70,000-$80,000 more than we paid for ours which would have priced us out of this house. Sold our first house in less than 24 hours for about $20,000 more than we paid for it 4 years prior.
