I know this has been debated a few times and I’ve read posts until my eyes have gone crossed and only get more confused. I’m getting ready to change coolant on my 07 civic, and am down to zerex Asian and pgl, I like the concentrate of the peak, but worry about the formula not being liked by my Honda. Can I get away with pgl or should I stick with zerex Asian?

You seem to have a pretty good grip on the differences. Here's my take, if you can get full strength PGL, likely from Napa, go with it. It's 2eha free, won't hurt gaskets, and it's full strength so you can do a complete distilled flush series, get most of the old out and have a total PGL system to minimum 50% concentration. And, PGL is a long life/ lifetime coolant too.

ZAF like Honda Type 2 is a premix, best for a simple radiator drain and fill, not complete system exchange.

So depends on what you want to do, but imo you're not 'getting away' with using PGL, likely benefiting both cost and cooling system wise.

Based on your cars age, unless you 100+k miles on the clock, I take it you have decided to do a cooling system service early?

Both are fine coolants and would suit you well. Flip a coin to decide

I got about 75k on it, would prefer to do a simple drain and fill instead of a total flush, i may just do the zerex.

I used PGL on wife Mazda 3. I did flush with distilled until clean water came out. I can't remember how many times. I think 6 gallons or 6 times. It's been 20k miles and everting is fine and coolant looks good. The car is approaching 120k.

I put Peak Global in my girlfriend's VW Beetle a couple years ago.

I chose it because of the info here, availability and cost.

It seems to be working fine.

245,000+ miles on my Corolla and almost 100,000 miles using PGL. No issues at all and everything is fine.

I've used it in many vehicles with not a single problem. Honda engines have no problems with it that I've seen.

I like having a single product that works in the garage.

If you are just going to do a drain and fill of the radiator, then Zerex Asian is the closest to factory fill. If you are going to flush with water and then refill, you can use either.

As others have said, it is handy to have only one coolant in the garage. All 3 of my vehicles on my signature are on G-05.

I D&R'd my Honda Accord with Peak Global and the mixture of factory and PG caused no problems.
It says it can be mixed with other Long Life type coolants so I don't think the complete flush is necessary.

^I think the only 'minimum' precaution one should take it to shorten that following service interval before extending out again until most of the mixture really is the 'other' formulation.
