Can someone please explain how you are supposed to a drain / flush with distilled water / and fill on a new Toyota/Lexus with Pink coolant?

I never had an issue in the past because I've always used the red concentrated coolant in my older vehicles.

However, since Pink is not sold in a concentrate... how would you ever get back to a 50/50 mixture?

Hmm, been there done that with Honda Type2 when the Honda stealer used original green AF with a head gasket job. I'll warn you it's a wasteful process.

First you do some d&f's using distilled till it runs relatively clear. Then you will add the Toyota pink, run it to mix. Then you will have to drain and fill again with pink.

You will need some kinds of AF concentration tester. I used a simple 5 ball Chaslyn AF tester that can now be found at O'Reilly AP ~$2. Checked it against new premix, worked fine.

You will need to repeat process until you get to ~50% concentration as measured by a tester.

This is why and when PepBoys OEM brand Asian PHOAT concentrate makes sense. Even comes in matching pink tint.

A full flush is challenging.

I did one with my Mazda RX8 but Mazda was thoughtful enough to provide a block drain in the rotary.

I would think a partial drain and refill with Zerex and then a subsequent partial drain and fill in two or three years would work.

This might work, but you would be wasting an awful lot of Pink coolant !!

I just feel like once you introduce distilled water into the system, it would be almost impossible to get back to a 50/50 mixture.

I just found it and that looks perfect!

Thank you.

I wonder if it's any good ?

I can attest that it did/does work. In the 01 Civic is took me less than two jugs of Type2, ~1.5-1.75 gals iirc. Got it ~50% concentration using AF tester. But the Civic has relatively small cooling system capacity. Yes wasteful no doubt but it was best option for me at the time.

Honda also recommends 3x d&f ATF trans service, that could be considered wasteful too. Only done single d&f's 25-30k miles.

It's made by Recochem which seems to be a reputable company. I'd use it.

That said, last time I did a complete distilled flush on my 01 Tacoma I used full strength Peak Global Lifetime from Napa, working fine, original radiator. PB OEM Brand AF wasn't on the market at that time.

Think I'd give the latter a try now, but PGL won't need servicing for some time to come.
