Yukon XL

nice.

The Burb is 4wd correct? I suppose the 8l90/10\l90 is easy to adapt?? Will the same PCM work or you have to run standalone? I like Burbs.

It's 2wd. LT1 & L86 engines are identical besides the Intake, Oil Pan, FEAD, & Camshaft. I'm only using the LT1 longblock.....The truck will be just like factory besides the AFM delete Camshaft & upgraded lifters.

2WD is such a rare find here. Dealers near me all order everything with 4WD. Was this year part of the injector TSB? Mine had one injector die but since my state isn’t a CA emissions state the extended warranty on the injectors didn’t cover it.

oh wow, I did not know that they still made 2wd that late. I suppose is opens up options easier if not 4wd. Nice. I would say good luck, but something tells me you dont need it.

2wd makes it much easier to change those fluid filled motor mounts…. i’ve had to do 3 or 4 4x4 trucks with the atomic poly mounts and i curse it every time.

I'll update you guys soon as I get something done......On vacation now, Went up through the Grand Teton park & all the way through Yellowstone....Now at Mt. St. Helens, Technically Kelso, Washington for the night & will see the mountain tomorrow.
I would like to follow your progress on this. I have a 2019 Yukon Denali myself, but only at 18K miles. I think I like the color of yours better than my extra cost Shimmering Quartz Metallic. Love your wheel option too. Is your interior gray or black?

Cocoa & Dune I'm pretty sure. Paint is White Frost Tricoat.

Nothing against 4wd, But I've never needed it & don't put myself in positions to need it.

Our 2017 has that paint and interior - both still really good …
Safe travels Chris …

Safe travels Chris …

Last year we took my dad's '03 Tahoe with a stock LQ4/Built 4L65E & 3.42 gears.
Got totaled @ 6 months ago while I was building a '09 Yukon SLT/XFE (Also bought from a customer after the Aluminum AFM 5.3L ate a lifter)
Has a Gen IV iron 6.0L built to LS2 specs with a BTR stage 1 truck cam/Built 6L80E & 3.08 gears. Sold it to the old man as he was stressing over the '03.

The '03 averaged 16mpg & the '09 averaged 18mpg while having 50-70 more HP.....Think it would've done better with 3.42's taking advantage of the 6L's ratio's.

It will be interesting to see what the L86/10L80 will do....Not sure of the rear ratio.

It’s going to be a another step up on the road …

I rented a 2019 Yukon XL Denali 2WD for a trip to Yellowstone a few years back, it was a great vehicle for a roadtrip. I really liked the compartment behind the radio for hiding my wallet and handgun. My only minor complaint was that it didn’t have lane centering like my Toyota so it was a bit more tiring to drive on the longer days on the road.

the pins are AFM delete?

Part of it, Yes....They block oil pressure from acting on the Valley Cover. Them being absolutely necessary is debatable when reusing the AFM Valley Cover.....They are necessary when using a 6.6L L8T Valley cover as the L8T block is not drilled for AFM Lifters meaning there no seals to seal the towers.

That's a great engine and I have one in my 2014 Corvette. Even the factory cam has a nice idle to it. Good luck on the installation and smart move deleting the AFM.
