Proper torque isn't applied with a breaker bar nor a ratchet, and breaker bars are generally used to "break" a faster loose. It is less likely to be damaged than a ratchet.

And ratchets don't multiply torque.
 
Got my replacement Stanley 1/2" & 1/4" ratchets in the mail today for the ones that broke. Took about 1.5 weeks, not bad. We'll see how long these last.

Its a useful ratchet in a lot of places, its great for drain plugs.
 
Its also 3/8 drive, the locking flex is handy. For a inexpensive ratchet it has done well and proven itself useful and durable, no complaints.
