You guys know paint, so maybe you can give me a ballpark estimate...

I have a 2009 Buick Lacrosse that had a damaged hood I would like to get replaced and repainted. I'm expecting the hood to cost between $350-400, however I'm curious as to how much paint and labor would cost on a mid size sedan such as this.

For a bumper, I received a quote for 1100 with an OEM bumper cover and to repaint a spoiler, it was 400.

I think it would probably be around 1000 for a quality job with a quality part.

I was going to go to the dealership that I bought it from. They do better work than the local gm dealer. I know I had to have my bumper painted twice, once from an accident and another time from a hit and run. Around $550 both times. Either you have a huge bumper or very high quality paint.

Those rates are very dependent on the local area and the cost of the part. $1100 for an OEM bumper, painted, would not be out of the norm.

Trying to find the 08-09 in salvage yards is a nightmare. I've got to drive 40-60 miles to find a yard and only a few of them have online inventory listing.

Are you are buying a new OE hood? Those are aluminum IIIRC and material/ labor cost will be high, 600-1K not inc the hood would not be out of the ballpark for top quality materials and a nicely (as good or better than OE) done job.

I'm just planning on letting the dealership order one and paint it.

700-1100 is what we would pay in our area depending on the level of prep work needed. Remember..... to purchase the stuff at home you are looking at a min of $125 upwards of $250 if you are starting at ground zero.
