I would bet that Motorcraft semi-syn could pass dexos1 testing as is, or could be very easily modified to do so. After all, there are some dexos1 synthetic blends out there. So, using the synthetic as you are, I wouldn't worry. However, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting to see a GM trademarked dexos1 logo on a bottle of Motorcraft oil.
If one were intentionally avoiding actual dexos1 licensed products, I suspect that the Motorcraft would be a very good choice. By the way, do a Canuck a favour. Our Motorcraft oil is different than down south. Does (or did) Motorcraft full synthetic 5w30 ever have any of the older GM specifications?
