Would you buy the new Lubricheck device?

I backed the product in 2011 and got mine in January, mine also was accurate on the scale of 1-10 for oil life based on my mileage at sample time.

It's not exactly new.

I did buy it 3 years ago. It was called Oilyzer then and cost $30 shipped.

It works with dielectric sensor. I explained it more in my review here: http://www.epinions.com/review/Oilyzer_Engine_Oil_Tester_epi/content_509719907972?sb=1

This sensor has nothing to do with TAN.

Okay, so how is it detecting the contaminants?

Did you read my post above?
It's a dielectric sensor!

I think I will buy one. our family has 5 cars - each with different driving patterns, use different oils & different oil change intervals

here's more feedback:

PS: the unit has a one year warranty.
made in china is not encouraging for longevity....

PS2: wonder if the Oilyzer was made by the same people....
I did talk to someone at Lubricheck, who said their current model had an improved processor,
over the first batch run. they are on the 3rd production run now.

I've called Lubricheck twice and talked with Chad.
He did say the Oilyser was an unsuccessful marketing attempt.

the current Lubricheck is version #3.

I was impressed with my conversation with him (I am a layperson, not technical...)
did not get any high pressure sales talk...

I plan to order a Lubricheck today.
he said with their third batch, they are doing the assembly here in the US. He didn't say where the parts were manufactured, though.
