Buy what you want or buy what you need?

In 2018 I was in a position to buy my truck. I was ready to buy new. I had never been able to do this. I wanted:
-basic features, power locks, doors windows
-2.7L eco
-supercab (not crew)
-4WD
-large gas tank
-green on tan
-heated seats

everything in the list except the last two could be had in the lowest trim. But heated seats required leather, which came out to 10k more. Green was only offered another couple of trims higher. Those two features added over 20k. So I dropped those two wants and am still very happy with what I have.

The 3rd Gen Tacoma kinda sucks imo. It is uncomfortable and the drivetrain offers a horrible experience.

It’s **** good off road and has a great aftermarket, which is the only reason I still have mine. I’d get a frontier or wait for the 4th gen.
