The vehicle is 04 Chevy Silverado. The coolant temps reach operating temps as soon as I'm on the freeway, but I don't know what the oil temp is exactly as no oil temp gauge. My truck doesn't have OLM. Sometimes on weekends I drive a lot more, visit my parents 22 Miles away, go to the beach 36 miles away, etc. I'll prolly go Full Synthetic 5w30 OCI once a year or 5w30 conventional winter 6 months and conventional 10w30 summer 6 months. Out of curiosity, any drive that's under 5 miles is considered severe wear on the vehicle? My 97 Jeep GC goes 1.5 miles to work and back each day. But at least once a week (usually 2-3x) I am running errands via the freeway, where I gun it to get the rpm's into the 4000 - 4500 range.
Would that counter balance the 1.5 mile driving?
