Pixel 8pro phone fell two stories on a outdoor metal staircase. Guess the gorilla glass has limitations.

Worth replacing glass or just buy a new phone? The screen worked for a few hours, then went blank. The phone appears to still be powered up.

What are they quoting you for a replacement. If the frame is bent and/or the back cracked due to the 2 story fall then maybe not. Put the phone screen down on a flat surface like a glass table or similar and try to tap the corners to see if you hear a tapping noise to check if the frame is bent. If it's bent then it'll also need a frame. If it needs a screen, frame, and likely the back glass since that's probably included with the frame then it might not be worth fixing. But if it's just a screen and they're not asking something crazy high I'd fix it.

Wow, google won't provide the location of an authorized repair center without the phone serial number. I can't get the serial number as the screen is broke. I suspect google gets a kickback from the repair center, and tracks this to make sure google gets its kickback.

That's dumb. I guessing you don't have the box anymore. If you do then it must have it. I also remember seeing a bunch of little numbers when i took my sim card tray out to put my sim in. Does the pixel 8 have a sim tray or is it just e sim only? If it has a sim tray then take it out and check if the tray itself has little numbers. I don't know the numbers it could have are the serial number or the imei. Maybe some but not all phones have that

Check the credit card your monthly charges go to, they might offer coverage. I think you mentioned having an Amex Platinum card in the past, I have mine billed to my Amex for this reason.

If you don't have coverage, I would buy a new one and sell the old one on ebay. There are people that buy damaged devices to repair and resell.

I just had my son's pixel 8 warrantied. Where are you and I'll give you the repair locations?
