What work boots have you all had good luck with? Its becoming time to get new ones again, and Iam looking at different ones. I used to buy Wolverine exclusively, but they only ever lasted me a year. Iam in mud, concrete and hot asphalt alot, I weigh around 240, so they take alot of abuse. The last pair I bought were Carrharts and I have to say, I was really impressed, they are going on 2 years, but they are about shot. They really jacked the price up on them(about double) so I was looking at other brands- Chipewa, Georgia and Worx(by Redwing). I can get the Worx or the Georgia for about the same price. Iam willing to try some new makers. Anybody have some bad or good experiences in work boots?

Redwing!! I have had several pairs and they are the most comfortable then any other I have tried, especially the stealtoes

Be aware! Many boots that used to be made in America and were of nice quality are now the same name but are made in China and they are sub-par. I'm no expert but I might recommend Wolverine or Carolina. I think they are both still made domestically. Hope I could help you.

Timberland pro series, just bought a pair of wheat colored at Cabelas in january for 99.95 they are the most comfortable shoes i have ever had, iwork in mud and water every day they are waterproof and insulated and just wash them off with a power washer, they are kinda pricey but worth it,i have never spent this much for work boots before but really impressed

I wear Redwing for 10+ years USA made 2226 model now went to a 3507 and think it is a even better boot water resistant best chemical resistant and puncture proof.

Danner Workman GTX 8" brown. Best work boots I've ever owned. Beat the crud out of them landscaping, woodcutting, and every other activity requiring a boot. After two years they still look and work great. No break-in period to speak of either. Good traction on sole and comfortable all the way around.

Redwings can be re-soled, unlike a lot of others, so the high initial cost is offset by the fact that they will outlast many others with re-soling. And they sure are comfortable. And domestic. I personally use Terra boots made in Canada. Don't know if you can get them in USA.

Most of my stuff comes from Penney's because my wife works there and several times a year they give the employees great discounts. Sometimes if they don't have anything I want, I go to http://www.safetyshoes.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/HomepageView?storeId=10001&catalogId=10051 I started buying Lehigh stuff in 1980 through work. Good stuff without the name brand price. Can't say where their stuff is made now.

Don't buy Itasca, made in China and as good as you could expect. I paid $40 at the new farm store for a pair last fall. Dumb, dumb. dumb. I needed a pair of boots with nice, fuzzy lining to pull on my bare feet the first thing in the morning. I throw my boots and sweats on and take the dog out for the paper. I then shovel the driveway if needed, and then if I am not going anywhere, loaf on the net for a while before getting dressed. They are falling apart after 6 months of that. So much for trusting the farm store, at least on clothing.

Now you can buy a drum of Delvac for $500 there.

Red Wings are my choice, but like most there is more and more Chinese content/manufacturing showing up. The last pair I got (can't remember the model number, but steel toed, gore-tex, waterproof, etc...) were still made in the USA, but with Chinese materials. They've been fine the last 2 1/2 years of daily wear (earth work construction sites, building sites, miscellaneous off the beaten path work).

Can't vouch for the worxs lineup - never tried it.

Wolverine Durashocks are very good and I also put the Dr. Scholls work Gels in them. I have been wearing them for 15 years with no foot, leg or back pain. 12 hour days walking and standing on concrete! Make sure they are the Durashocks though not just the standard Wolverines.

I'm another Redwing fan and have worn them for 20+ years; however the model I'm currently wearing is discontinued and I have a sneaking suspicion its replacement is made in China. No thanks, I'll look elsewhere next time.

I think Iam going to try the Worx by Redwings, they are probably made in China, but so were the Carrharts that were the best wearing boots I ever owned, they just jacked the price up to high. Not to bash made in America, I am as American as they get, I cant even get myself to buy anthing but American cars and thats a farce. But really, with the new generation of American workers, does made in America mean anything, most are only concerned with a paycheck and getting done, the companies want to be as cheap as possible. I dont believe you will find the American pride in a job done anymore with the new generation. they dont care, almost all of it is done with automation and what isnt is done by machines is done with imigrants that dont even speak English, only because the American kids dont want to work, they would rather do "smart" stuff on computers. Yeah, Ill try the Worx, Redwings. Thanks.

I wore Redwings for many years, very comfortable.

I didn't mind the price since they were mandatory (and paid for) by the company I worked for. We got a new pair every year.
