This is more of a gripe, but I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this. Looking at the PF63 and PF64 equivalents sold at Walmart, I find myself looking at their pricing and kind of agreeing with them, since Walmart's prices tend to mirror the market in general or do better (i.e. lower price) for nearly any item. The only notable exception I've seen and keep seeing is the Wix XP. They tend to run around $21-$22 each. Any idea why the Wix XP commands such a premium at Walmart?

WIX must think they are awesome now that they bumped the efficiency up to 99% @ 23u. 😄

I didn't look extensively, but one to fit my
2015 F150 is 12.54 plus shipping charge if under $35. Walmart.com ship to me or store.

This is what I see:

Go to an AAP and pick up Carquest Premiums instead, they're fully loaded and cost 10 bucks. 99.5% @ 20microns, Silicone ADBV and O-ring, no silly louvers that can possibly not be fully open, just open holes in the center tube.

I agree completely. Just wondering if the XP is made from unobtainium or something like it.

Those aren't sold by Walmart. It's a third party selling and shipping. You're probably paying $10 for the filter and $12 for the free shipping.

The Walmart in-store Wix XPs sell between $11-$14 here, depending on filter part number.

I just bought a Wix XP 57502XP for $14.06 from Amsoil. I was going to get the EAO oil filter, but it was out of stock. Must be having issues with manufacturing?
They were made by Champion Labs, which is now shut down due to the parent company (First Brands) bankruptcy.

My bad..... So EA oil filts will be a problem going forward....... Not good. I know of the first brands thing. But was not aware of the Amsoil EAO being part of it. I guess I'll be doing Wix for awhile:cautious:

Amsoil will have to find a new supplier, so will have to wait and see who can make them again. Might be Premium Guard Inc since they bought Fram and Champion Labs.

When I saw topic, that was my first thought. Likely explains the pricing. Fwiw, I can't recall ever seeing the XP (or any Wix labeled filter for that matter) sold in any b&m WM store I've been in. Anyway, good call on it.

Man, I guess I am old. When I read the title I thought it said “Windows XP”………
The good old days when operating systems and computing wasn't an ad ridden cesspool and getting pushed towards less privacy and pushing for AI.

But I digress, lol.

For context, Windows XP was introduced in 2001, while Wix XP was offered in 2013. For this reason, I would say Microsoft is the original XP, while Wix rode the XP wave. Windows went away around 2014.
