Wix, napa gold, as delco

I'd go with Wix/Napa, which are both manufactured by Wix.
That's not to say that the Champion labs (IIRC) manufactured AC Delcos are bad.

Depends on the application. Without specifying a make and model, only assumptions can be made.. Are you asking about spin ons or cartridges?

Some AC Delco spin ons (part # with an e on the end?) are the Champion made e core filters. I've not had any personal experience, but they aren't too regarded here. Car51 has posted a few decent ecores though. I'd personally look at a WIX or NG if my application called for one.

For my Jeep, the AC Delco filter looks like a Mobil 1 filter. I am sure the media is different and the ADBV is nitrile, but the can and base plate looks nearly identical and they are also Champion made. A few AC Delco cartridges are German made Mann filters IIRC and are highly regarded. I'd use the above in a heartbeat if needed.

WIX and Napa Gold filters are the same filters with different labels. I use their spin ons worry free, but stick with OEM cartridge filters. When it comes to cartridge filters, Mahle, Toyota, Mopar and Mann can't be beat in terms of quality and price.

Fram Ultra was not one of the 3 he was asking about.

Nhrata, depends what vehicle, but all 3 are good filters

Why is it so difficult to share an opinion within the parameters that the OP has defined?

I am sticking with Delco on my 5.3 but will use Wix/Napa on the oldest car. Both have been perfect on my cut and inspection, but I am losing trust in Wix since they and Purolator's garbage are owned by the same company. Something could change on the Wix and I am not going to chance it. I would never trust a Purolator.

Probably the Napa Gold with the info you gave. The Delco can be an ecore or regular Champ labs depending on model. Delco claims patented media so they are not the same as any other Champ Labs filter. One difference is louvers with the standard Delco. With the Napa Gold you don't have to be peering into the filter looking for closed louvers if it has the round holes. Don't know if Napa went to louvers yet, not up on it. Another difference is the Napa has a red silicone anti drain back valve while standard Delco has nitrile. So I vote for the NG.

Depends on how long & what oil you're going to run in them-if you're going to go 5K or less on dino, the AC Delco (likely Ecore) would be the cheapest option, the Wix would be a good option for up to 10K, if you run a full synthetic on a clean engine & want to leave your filter on for multiple OCIs, up to 24K OR MORE, then the Ultra is the way to go. Assuming we're talking spin-on filters?

for a spin-on, easily Wix or Napa Gold (they are both the same, so just get whichever one is cheaper). Napa Platinum is on sale for $8/24 this month, also (Napa Platinum is the same as Wix XP, a wire-backed synthetic like Fram Ultra)

for a cartridge, AC Delco (most of their cartridges are made by Hengst, like the PF457G and PF2257G)

Wix/NG for me, I'm not a fan of the e-core Delco filters. The old style Delcos were great, but I'm not sure they even make one with a metal center tube nowadays.

Wix is hard to beat, never had a problem with one on anything, Napa Golds are the same thing with different stickers on them, use either with complete confidence!

I should have been more specific. I'm talking about spin on filters, specifically for LS Series GM engines,a 5.7, 5.3 & 6.0

If the AC Delco was not the eCore style then any of them would be fine. But it does seem the eCore style filters are better today than in the past, so that factor might be moot these days. Don't know what the efficiency rating of the AC Delco is, so that being an unknown you might go with WIX/NAPA assuming the efficiency is better than the AC Delco (until proven otherwise).

Unfortunately all of the new ACDelco filters I seem to find are the ecore

Yes, it is unfortunate. Of course, they work, I suppose, but there was nothing wrong with the classics. My old LTD got a lot of AC Delcos back in the day, which was pretty amusing. Back then, they were an unbeatable price for great construction.

Just bought a dozen 7060s (GM V8) for 40.92+frt. Fits both my Camaro 6.2 and Tahoe 5.3.

Shipping was kind of high at $13 (they do weigh 10 lbs) so I threw in a couple of cabin air filters which weigh virtually nothing, did not increase the freight at all thereby reducing the cost per piece. Made in U.S.A.
