Wix filters still good?

Unfortunately, I agree with the sentiment that the quality has slipped, they are often usable, but the construction should be checked for each filter and can no longer simply be trusted.
I recently bought a group of Wix 57145 filters from Rock Auto that were labeled Made in Mexico. The louvers in the center tube were basically closed on all 4 filters I bought. See sample picture attached.
I’ve bought several flavors of Wix filters over the years, and never had an issue before this last group. I still have a few Napa Platinum from the Made in USA, round holes in center tube era that I’ll definitely use.

My Mobil 1 filter for my 2014 Nissan frontier looks just like that inside, and is even smaller. So that must be the new-style construction, can't fathom that two different companies would make the same mistake, if those small holes all add together to make a sufficient flow rate, then flow rate it is. M1-110A, stamped "Made in USA". The Wix 57510 I just installed looks very similar internally and was made in Mexico.

I just reviewed my filters on hand 2 wix different part numbers both had burrs
Bosch and Champ look ok no burrs.

I never cared for the plastic cage on the a.C, delco, but the thread seems so much better on them.I think they're rolled form threads.
I may get Mahle next time I order and check them out

Last US made Wix had short threads and burrs. Mexico filter looked better. Embarassing.
