Anyone here use it?
I have to pay a friend some $$$ overseas and it seems like a good option over wire fees etc.
He is setup already with Wise and I just got an acct too.
He doesn't do PayPal.
Thanks!

Dunno, but your bank to his bank is the most safe way.
Yes but my bank really makes transfers hard. I know the reason why but it is a hassle and expensive.
You can fund wise from a CC too which I like better for protection.

We've used Wise before to transfer money to our daughter who lives overseas. Doing an actual bank to bank wire transfer cost at least $50 and Wise was at the most $5.

Agreed.. thanks.
They seem very secure as every login requires a text to verify.

How much are you talking about? For small amount like less than a couple thousand I think it is fine, for more I would use wire transfer just to be safe. Usually if I am seeing someone in person outside the US I would bring my US ATM and withdraw there for local cash, that's usually the lowest fee (my First Republic account charges no ATM fee) and best exchange rate.
