Avoid Bosch Icon. At first I liked them on one of my vehicles, but after about 3 months now I do not care for them on either, especially at the price. They skip on my truck and smear on my car, even after a cleaning with alcohol.

YMMV...but I have had them on my STi for about a year now and they're still working like new. Installed a set on my GF's Audi back in May and they're still going strong. No streaking, no chattering, etc.

Has anyone tried the Trico Innovison or Valeo beam blades. They are like the Bosch Icon, but a little cheaper. They look like they would be good winter blades with no joints to freeze up.

Yes, I've used the Valeo Ultimate blades (prior to using the Bosch Icons). I had them in service for approx. 1 year and they worked great for me over that time period. They were still going strong, but I decided to replace them with the Icons as I got a killer deal on a set right when they were released.

I have some of the Valeos I got when I first heard of them nearly two years ago. Price then was $39 ea.!! After almost two years, mine still work great!

Icons are a cheap replica of the Valeo, have them on wife's truck. Will go back to Valeos or try a new Michelin beam blade I saw at Walmart for $14 or $15.

Valeos are the best I've ever had!!

If you're really trying to pinch a penny, just replace the drivers side,

.

I'm using Anco blades from Wal-Mart on my wife's GTP. They work really well especially for the money.

I tried to put Trico wipers on her car,but for some reason they would not fit. I used everal different plastic adaptors, but no dice. Ever happen to anyone else??

For the Ford guys try the Motorcraft blades from Trico. They seem to last a good long time. They have this stupid tattletale dot to tell you when to change them but all the time I see them working perfectly at the shop well after changing to BLAZE Yellow.

About 10 buck. Got them on my neon and they are awesome.

Used to be DIEHARD Bosch guy for blades but they are going CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP and they Suck now and the price is still high.

So far on my neon I have used Mopar, Bosch, Anco, and Motorcraft. The best so far is by far motorcraft.

I bought some JAMAK Tripledge "life-time guarantee" Silicon Blade at Walmart a few month ago. Total POS. Streaks, chatters and cheap design that can scratch your windshield.

While at Pep Boys today, I noticed that SOPUS has jumped into the beam blade segment, marketing them under the Rain-X brand. A little less expensive than Bosch Icons. Big end cap display. Pylon also has one under the Michelin brand. I guess the next big thing is to sell ~$40 replacements every season instead of ~$10 refills.

Speaking of Rain-X, I noticed that its original developer, Unelko Corp., is marketing a R-X type product in gel form, under the Glass Science brand, as well as traditional liquid and anti-fog products. Rain-X is now a SOPUS brand. Anybody know the story behind the transfer (sale or license?). I guess the terms didn't include a non-compete clause.

installed innovisions on my dodge about 2 months ago. i'd have to say they are the best blades i 've ever bought. can't say about ice/snow though as this winters been warm.

I agree that the Michelins are good. Have a pair on an Escort for over a year now through cold winter and still working great. Mr. Clean wipers, which look identical and also made by Pylon, are junk. They came apart in months. Tripledge were also junk.

I have had good luck with the Michelin blades also. They are very inexpensive at Wal-Mart. Currently, I am using Trico Teflon blades that I got on sale at AA. Trico makes many of the blades installed by the OEMs and their quality is excellent. I have not had good luck with any of the Anco blades except the winter blades.
