Please educate me about Trico's premium wipers

I prefer a beam type wiper for the winter and a conventional segmented frame for the summer. Depending on the curvature of your window, you might lose a half inch to a inch of radius on the wiper swipe as the beam type might not have the flexibility to stay on the glass right up to the tip of the wiper. However the beam type is less prone to icing up.

I've noticed the same about Valeo and Bosch. They oem their higher performing products to BMW and other car makers. Their over the counter stuff at mass merchants and auto parts stores are not the same. Unless you pick the premium products in their lines. I live in the rainy pacific NW and notice this. Bosch Icons are pretty close to what the BMW dealers sell and last three years. The lower line Bosch will barely last a year.

Toyota dealers sell two lines...their oem that come on the cars from the factory (Denso?), and a cheaper "value" line that is not near as good.
I’ve been disappointed by the cheap Bosch wipers at O’Reilly. One of the local parts houses also sells them as PerfectWipe but theirs are made in Mexico with an improved attachment design. The beam-type Bosch blades have their adapter stack too high for a conventional hooked arm to provide pressure - they smear in the middle.

Bosch is still making the frame-type MicroEdge series but those are made in China. Not as nice as the old Belgian made ones. The Costco Michelin Guardians(made by Trico in Mexico) work decent as a beam-type blade for all - but they’re short-lived. What really surprised me but also short-lived - Walmart’s el-cheapo Mexican framed Michelins. They wipe as good as OE.

I'm currently using new Trico Exact Fit conventional frame rubber wipers on my 97 Buick Park Ave. These are the Buick OEM wiper made with 1997 technology. They wipe well for as long as they last, but the passenger side wiper doesn't tuck under the hood as it should. The failure to tuck was a bug that Buick fixed in 2002 with a slightly more bent angle arm. I'd put a 2002-5 arm on it if I could, but it's unobtainium in 2025-6.

So I have to live with passenger side arm not tucking under hood when wipers are off. I find this super annoying astetically and it catches wind at highway speeds. A beam blade would be more aerodynamic and less visually obtrusive.

22" Trico Beam Wipers I like for possible use on my 97 Buick Park Ave with Yeti helper springs that increase wiper pressure on window.

*Titan (Z7 syn enhanced rubber) $21 Walmart.
*Ultra (Z7 syn enhanced rubber) $17 Walmart.
*Diamond (rubber with EasyGlide coating). $36 Pair, Amazon. $18 each.
*High Mileage (rubber?) $25. Sale $20. Walmart.
*Exact Fit Beam (rubber) $17-18 Walmart.

Trico says all those will fit 97 Buick Park Ave, but would they each fit the same and equally well?

What is EasyGlide coating? I read it's a silicone ceramic, or maybe only ceramic on rubber. I'm not sure which.

Diamond is same or similar to Silicone Ceramic? Diamond sold in pairs on Amazon.

Titan and Ultra are probably the same wiper. Ultra costs $4 less than Titan.

If anyone knows the answers to the above, or has recommendations, please share. I'd prefer to stay with Trico and I'm reluctant to get silicone blades because they reduce night vision (due to putting a silicone glaze on windshield).

I will also email the above info/questions to Trico tech support.

Forget what Costco had before the Michelins, but both last less than 6 months in the PNW rains.

Just got a pair of Trico silicone ceramic on RA for $30. Crazy.
That is a crazy good price for sure (for those wipers). I also saw Trico Signal at Amazon for similar or less price. The Trico Signal are same wiper as Trico Silicone Ceramic, except Signal have an (unnecessary) colored wear indicator built-in.

Amazon also has Trico Diamond $37 pair, but that's not as much of a bargain price. Diamond are one step down in product line from to Silicone Ceramic. Diamond are ceramic coated rubber.
