Winter Use: Amsoil ASE 10W-30/SAE 30 or ASL 5W-30?

For OPE like a tractor that has a snow thrower attached for winter use or a standalone snow thrower, would one be better off with Amsoil's ASE 10W-30/SAE 30 or Amsoil's ASL 5W-30 (either oil changed once a year)?

Amsoil recommends their ASE for most small engine applications, but B&S recommends full synthetic 5W-30 for the best protection during year-round use. I have been using the ASE year round, but would the ASL be a better oil for all-season use? I live in southern New England.

Between the two, 5w-30.

0w-30 would be better yet. My snowblower had Castrol.

If you always keep the snowblower in the heated garage, it doesn't matter. But if it's parked outside in cold temps, then 5w30 is your better call.

Why not their 4-Stroke Small Engine oil. Thats what I use in all OPE.

That's what Amsoil ASE is, their small engine oil.

I use the Amsoil ASE Small Engine oil in my JD mower and my power washer. I will use it in my new Toro snowblower I'm getting next week. I really like the oil. Easy, great fuel economy and fairly cheap compared to regular Walmart synthetics by the qt.

What are the lowest temps you see. Where I'm at we don't get below -10F so AMSoil ASE is completely fine.

The coldest I've seen here in Pittsburgh is around 0 . The Amsoil flows to like -40 or less.
