I have a Husky Professional (CH) 2HP 30G vertical Air compressor that I purchased at Home Depot a few years ago and each winter before it goes below freezing i always wheel inside into my basement for the winter because i don't use it at all during the winter since it is too cold to do work on the car or do other stuff outside. But this year due to major renovations happening throughout my house I have absolutely no room in my basement for it. At the moment it is sitting in a small storage room in the back of my garage. My question is will it be alright sitting unused during freezing temperatures for a long period of time? and should I do anything specific to winterize it?

Thanks

Mine sits outside all winter and aside from starting slow runs fine.

I would run it on the coldest dryest day you get then shut it off and open the drain. The absolute humidity inside will be as dry as it gets.

If you have non-condensing air that you introduced at room temp you will have condensation inside when it gets really cold. Not enough to worry about, but if you get that dry winter air in there...
