Multipurpose tire air compressor

Hello folks,

I plan to buy a tire inflator, something like this, as a backup in case of a flat. Ideally, I would like to use the same compressor for car cleaning purposes as well. My car is designed in such a way that there are a maximum number of crevices where the dirt/leaves get stuck in and during rain/winter, they all rot in that area. The car wash people try to use as little air as possible to remove such debris. I am planning to buy accessories like this for cleaning purpose.

I was wondering if this setup is enough for occasional cleanup or the air through such compressor will be too little to do the job?

If you have any alternative ideas, I welcome those.

That's pretty neat, but based on the video that someone posted, it sounds like you would need additional fittings to be able to attach it to the air compressor.

Sorry, I can't offer any advice on how well this works, but I'm interested to see what responses you get.

I do own a Viair portable compressor (not the exact same model you linked to), and it seems to be pretty good for airing up tires on my cars and bikes.

BTW, it comes with several attachments, including the needle for airing up balls. But the airflow coming out is pretty weak... this wouldn't be strong enough for any kind of serious cleaning, other than just blowing off very light dust.

The compressor is rated at 1.06CFM Free Flow @ 0 PSI - the same as the one you're looking at.

A few question on cleaning and most said there is not enough air flow.
It all depends on what you clean or where.

I think for cleaning, you may need a compressor with a tank.
Once the air in the tank build up, then you can use it to blow.

You can always try.
 
Does it have to run on 12 volts? 115 would give you more airflow for the car washing/ drying/ blowing you envision.
 
I remember trying to use the blow gun with my small 2 gallon compressor without letting it fill at all, I didn't get the pressure I needed. I was blowing out a computer tower case and had to let the take fill, blow for 30s, then let it fill again. I just checked the compressor and it is 120V, 2.5A, so at best 300W. I would guess that the 12v compressor won't be able to do much.
 
it will work fine for inflating things

its not going to work to provide you a stram of air without a tank. the compressor is only going to output small puffs of air, which id you intend to use for cleaning is just going to be mostly wasted.

i thibk you are better off with a vacuum cleaner to acccomplish the task you said to remove leaves from crevices. air conpressor is just going to get things more stuck.

i think you shpuld verify if your idea works with a can of air, before going down this path.

I am trying to kill 2 birds in one stone, hence preferring 12V.
