Im not sure how liberal KS is with the salt trucks, but if its like South Dakota, they see a cloud and there out salting. Best thing to do is park her and find yourself a decent old pickup. Salt is a nasty thing and gets everywhere. Im also not familar with the size of storms you get, but if its over 4-5 inches, depending on consistancy it can be fun to get around, and over that just gets dangerous. In the winter im on call tow driver/emergency equipment operator. my probe let me down quite a few times last winter, and on new years after a good 14 inches dropped , i didnt even try to move it, just had my boss pick me up. for the price you can find a old chevy, ford or whatever, its worth it.
