Hello Everyone!

Will Amsoil Dominator 10-30 Racing mix with Amsoil 5-30 Series 3000 Synthetic Oil (For Diesel Engines)?

I have a case of the 5-30 Series 3000 Diesel oil, I've been using it in my racing go-kart. I've been wanting to richen up the add pack by mixing it 50-50 with Amsoil Dominator 10-30 Racing Oil.

Will this work? The Dominator oil is red, so I thought I should ask the experts at Bob's.

Thanks!

Ben

They will mix, but you really aren't going to achieve much by mixing. Both oils have a large amount of additives. I would just use up the older HDD then switch to RD30.

I thought the zinc was 1250 in the HDD while it was over 1550 in racing oil.

A 50-50 mix would put me at a 1400 zinc level!

You don't think the extra zinc would be worth it?

I've noticed all the Amsoil street oil says it is campatible with other synthetics, but I've not seen that mentioned anywhere on the racing oil.

Thanks for the input!

That difference in zinc is meaningless, plus Dominator is quite low in Ca. They are very different oils. In fact I am thinking publicly I am advising not to mix the two.

Unless you are racing and changing the oil after every race most racing oils lack high detergency and aren't meant for daily driving.
And there comes a point where zddp becomes redundant. Its like overdosing mos2. There comes a point where its not helping.
