I got a little too close to a Rattle snake by accident today and he latched onto my pants leg. I took off running and at the same time pulling my pants off.

He left a wet spot where his fangs went through my pants.

I'm thinking that I could wash the pants by themselves then rewash them? I certainly don't want to be wearing clothes with Snake venon on them all week.

The venom is a form of protein. Use cold water, hot will set it and it may leave a stain.

Try "Shout" or something like that.

You might try color safe bleach too. It can't hurt either.

Glad you got rid of the pants, and the snake.

It will wash right out. Two washes and no worries....

Ya well. I was walking to a mine claim marker to read what the papers said. I was looking at the marker and not the ground and must have almost stepped on him.

He latched onto the baggy part of my pants about 1/2 way beteeen my knee and boot and I freaked out! Ever try to get your pants off with a snake attached and your boots on?

I was able to pull them down to my boots which got the snake a few inches away from me. After he let go he hauled butt South and I ran North as fast as I could with my pants around my ankles.

Whole new meaning to pants on the ground.

I had a towel stained by rattlesnake venom once about four years ago. I washed it the regular way and the stain set. It was an old towel so it did not matter.

I was on Upper Big Tujunga Cyn. Road and saw him on the pavement. I did not want him squashed by a car so I used the towel to herd him off the road. That little guy sure could strike fast, though.

Kudos to you for shooing him (or her) off the road. Conditions permitting, both me and my wife will do the same.

Ssame here. I get them off the road too. I was the one being stupid in snake country today. I never even thought about killing him.

He was probly more scared than I was.

Glad you're o.k..

Poor little snake. Imagine his fright when he saw that other python bobbing up and down at him.

I would have stomped him until he was deader than dead!

These dangerous pests are a dime a dozen so killing a few is no loss.
