Wildly different Autozone STP oil prices

I was in two Autozones this week, and noticed some wildly different pricing on STP oil that their site confirmed. (It mirrors what I saw on the price tags in the store, too... which was why I looked online and then made the post - this doesn't appear to be special sale prices or website weirdness.)

The first location in Omaha I checked had STP synthetic for $24.99, synthetic high mileage for the same price, and the Maximum Performance (20k rated) for $27.99:

The second location halfway across town had these prices, $10, $10, and $9 more per jug, respectively:

The current promo includes a free STP extended life filter, but didn't mention an oil sale, but, at any rate, I was struck by the difference. The price spread is across oil weights too.

Any thoughts on if the below differential is standard/normal, or whether they are in the process of raising their prices but do it piecemeal (that's my guess given the spread). I paid particular attention due to the recent Walmart price increase. I'd be interested in switching to the STP at the lower prices, especially if they frequently do the free filter promo.

What competition, if any, are near each store ?
That's a good question. Both of the above have an O'Reilly and an Advance within a few blocks. Another one I checked in the "cheap bracket" is a pretty nice new store in the suburbs, ironically without any competition within a couple miles.

I'm not seeing the free filter available except on Valvo syn- blend 0w20 and it's just the regular STP filter.

Just checked and that promo does still show for me on the site and they had signage up in both stores I was at for it... the 10k Extended Life filter was the deal for any synthetic they had, and regular blue 5k mile filter for other oils.
