Wich Valvoline product for tdi?

Hello,

For a (tuned) Audi 2.5tdi V6 engine with apr. 185hp, and requiring VW505.00 oil I'm looking for the best oil.
Because I can only choose Valvoline I have 2 different options.
Wich one schould fit better? This engine is known for it's camshafts and followers wearing out because of the bad design, a good oil can help life longer. The durablend is VW505.01 and special made for diesel engines, but the synpower has much more (better) approvals like MB229.5 and is a synthetic.

The change interval would be 10.000mile/15.000km.

I do not have a great deal of experience with diesels, but based upon the above statement, I would vote for Synpower especially in light of the camshaft/follower issues and the length of your OCI.

Hi.

You should try a synthetic diesel oil such as Shell Rotella 5W-40. Or Mobil Delvac 1. Or any of those types. They should serve you well.

Of the 2 choices.... durablend. 505.01 technically should have more anti-wear additives than regular 505.00.

But... I would go with a Heavy Duty Diesel Oil, one that is tested for ACEA E-standards.
