I know that mobil is a full synthetic oIl, but i bet that maxlife blend is not that far behind if any.Looking at the numbers how would the experts here compare them? tks

people here say great things about both... not sure if anyone can tell you which is better, although maxlife has been around longer and proven itself with steady great UOA turnouts. perhaps we can see some UOA comparisons of the two oils in the same engine?

M1 10W30 HM is A3 rated but cost a lot. $4/qt at CSK or Pepboys chain I believe.

I can get ML at $1/qt after Valvoline rebate and many grades.

Actually the Maxlife Synth looks like the best....A3 rates and meets Porsche, MB, BMW, VW/Audi specs. (Like the M1 0W40 Euro.) You can get it for $1 also this month.

The maxlife advantage is that is offered in a 5w-30 weight in both a blend and full synthetic where as M1 HM is only offered in 10w-30 & 10-40. To be fair the caparison needs to be with the synthetics only and not the MaxLife blend.

Mobil HM has a fairly tall claim on cleaning ability. Time will tell as more posters here verify this at some level. I just aqired a 98 Civic with 110k miles and I will be runing M1 HM 10w-30 early next early spring as soon as temps stay above 25 degrees.

I'd rather use M1"high mileage" cuz it's a full synthetic. I don't believe in blends and would try "Maxlife" BUT the blend version is only available from my local Pep Boys!!!
