From around the early 2000s, until around 2014 Ferrari spec'd Shell Ultra Helix 5w-40. It foamed a lot too. People complained about it, as did mechanics, but I never heard of any engine problems. Eventually, Ferrari changed to Pennzoil Euro 5w-40....then to Pennzoil Racing 5w-40 in North America, neither have any foaming issues.Imagine the customer base of Rotella, then imagine all those stripped bearings that should have exploded into foamy chunks. Where are all the angry foamy customers?
