His last post was made on September 2nd. Does everybody know why obbop is not posting anymore, or doesn't anybody here give a flying truck? As I see it, it's either one or the other possibility.

Where are all the stand-up guys? obbob, favorite poster, Old Coot extraordinary, is all of a sudden and quite unexpectedly not worthy more than some secretly written PMs? What's going on here? What's up with the secrecy? What's with all the cloak and dagger stuff?
That is not true. It was not the coot messing with me, just an inebriated regular.

Anyway, it seems that obbob's buddies have left the forum also. Surely at least a few of them would have had the cojones to ask what's going on. Since none did ask, they too must have left. Interesting!
maybe, after posting pics of his illustrious shanty, someone sacked him and assumed all of his possessions.

As I already said, I'm not so much concerned with obbob having disappeared -- for all I know he could have lost interest or be busy, but rather I find the blatant lack of interest in this prolific and much-admired poster's disappearance disturbing.

Well, I think that he was asked to stop posting "para-political" posts. Since that was a major part of his forte~ ..he may just have moved on

If true, that would seem to be highly selective.
I'm mainly wondering how the annual insulating of the shanty is coming along. I never thought of the coot as a particularly political fellow. He has good taste in flags and armed to the teeth. Maybe someone can dig up the suspect thread that alarmed the overlord. Maybe he had an oil spill or got a long term wee one enlightenment assignment.
If I'm not mistaken, obbop is a teacher and school starts in september. It's possible he's gotten busy with school and doesn't have as much time to spin yarns like he does during the summer.

IIRC, he's a substitute teacher, so maybe a regular fell seriously ill and he's crazy all out with work. Maybe a crop of new punks drove a career teacher over the edge... he quit... Obbop is reigning them in, like a superhero with a #2 pencil.
I can only imagine what it's like... almost like a fireman... phone rings, jump out of bed, blow off what you're going to do around the house and fly in to work.
