It's manipulated supply and demand, but supply and demand none the less.I wouldn't expect big oil to have that, I'm just sick of people saying for years that prices are controlled by supply and demand...
As it should be. Milk isn't a matter of national security...Gas is now cheaper than a gallon of milk.
I believe the term is oligarchy...It's manipulated supply and demand, but supply and demand none the less.
Greed depends on which side of the deal you are on.BIG OIL GREED. Plain and simple.
Same location. Just yesterday I was running errands and I noticed gas prices went up 45 cents literally overnight. I found one Exxon station that was still only $2.55 so even though I had 1/2 a tank I topped off anyway, later that day it was right up with all the rest.It also seems like a silly game in South Texas for the past few years. We have a Valero and a Murphy Express near our house (10 cents off with Walmart+ membership), and every few weeks it's the same thing. Sharp increase followed by an incremental decrease back to where it started. Filled up my van at Murphy for 2.43 yesterday (with 10 cent discount); today every station is 2.89.
The price will drop about a nickel per day until it's back around 2.50, then lather, rinse, repeat. I've fortunately got my timing down pat.
I few of the convenience stores in my city seem to never have any receipts available at the pump, if you want one (not unusual if keeping an expense account) you have to go inside the store. I imagine they are hoping that "while you're here...".As has been stated many times, these place's primary revenue (at least profit margin) isn't from fuel. It's from inside items - $2.50 bottles of soda, $4 bags of candy, $2/each donuts, and so on.
Gas blew up here 30 to 40 cents overnight.Gas is now cheaper than a gallon of milk.
Went from $2.59 to $3.19 here a couple days ago....Gas blew up here 30 to 40 cents overnight.

I feel that they have been hovering around this same point for quite a while. Less than $3 always.
Looks like you guys could use $1.50-2.00/gal additional tax to fix you right up.I'm in the suburbs of Detroit. These are the prices near me at the moment.

Every time our prices go up, it's always 50-60 cents a gal over night, and it's been doing this for months...it's about a 3 week cycle...Gas blew up here 30 to 40 cents overnight.

Nothing changed here best I can tell. Just got back from Atlanta - didn't seem to have gone up there either before I left.
