Why do you watch the Super Bowl?

Not able to non-rev? Would think it would be pretty easy today...
Risk management strategy.

Was in Stowe, VT this morning, and have to work at 08:00 tomorrow in Denver. This is the last flight out. If there had been a cancellation, or bad weather (which is happening just now, South and West), then non-rev would have been a problem.

So, booked a ticket, at a great price, and had a relaxing day, not worrying about how I was going to get to Denver. In all honesty, I didn’t even think about my flight being coincident with the game.

What is interesting to me about pro sports are the salaries. No athlete can possibly make 1+ bil per year like a hedge fund manager, but soon there will billion dollar multi year contracts…

Again it’s still entertaining to watch. I would not pay to see even my own team in person…

Some of the attitude here towards sports has been my mom’s my entire life 🙂

I love sports. I love participating in them. I even love watching sports. I will go out of my way to watch real sports, like when my kids were competing in various sports events, Soccer, Field Hockey, Ski racing, and I try to get up to Boston for the Head of the Charles each year.

The SuperBowl isn’t sports - it is obsession with celebrities, wrapped in commercialism, and pushed by hugely influential corporations.

Yuck.

9ers baby! Red and Gold everywhere! Bang bang 9er gang!
Do it for the Bay!

We shoulda beat the Chiefs last time but Garoppolo couldn't make a lousy 1st down in the last few minutes. And he badly overthrew a wide open Kittle for an easy TD.

I took my Dad to the games in the 80's; got season tickets when he got cancer. Lotta wins in those days. Luckily he beat the cancer and made it to 95.
Now we take my grandnieces to one game a year; their father passed away tragically years ago.
Due to wifey's business connections, we've been in a lux box 6 times, I think. I could never afford such a thing.

I couldn’t care less about sports. But I’ll watch the halftime show. Probably on YouTube once they upload it.
