Why are ants climbing my chimney?

Termidor is not for interior living space use. I thought the pics were of an exterior view of the chimney.
Yes, I understand that and took that away from the instructions. I got some all the same to be proactive around my buildings.

As I recall it allows for spot treatment in the instruction, and so I’ll either follow instruction with that or get another product.

The chimney is not outward facing, it’s inside but in a completely unfinished building that is not well sealed at all, fwiw.

I stand corrected. My apologies.

However, they are intended to disrupt the central nervous system and ultimately result in the demise of the insect. And they are generally referred to as "insecticides", are they not? ("-cide" resulting in death ...)

I've used deltamethrin in liquid concentrate, cypermethrin in dust powder, both to kill colonies and infestations of ants, termites, stink bugs, etc. Regardless of the proper terminology, the pyrethroids are intended to kill the insect, no?
It ultimately depends on the required mode of action for the situation. It is generally recommended to rotate modes of action with each service.

For general pest control application without a specific infestation issue, a broad-label pyrethroid will generally address any minor ant issues, but treating active infestations requires a more granular approach.

Indoors or out

Bifenthrin Concentrate 7.9% comes in all sizes and quantities

It doesnt matter the brand as long as it is labeled above as the active ingredient.

I buy it by the gallon from either place to do the perimeter and occasional border around the bathrooms.

This (below) is also a reputable site with tons of information on it. They also carry multiple brands of the same product if you do a search on the site for, prices are close to Amazon pricing and I like the site for all its offerings.

I just read your other post and see you are familiar with Termidor SC so must be well aware of the Bifenthrin too)

It is an interesting thing you have going on there!
