It may be a good idea to change the initial charge of oil early and not run an extended drain until the second fill.
David
Yeah I'm changing it at 5000 miles

OK So I can save a little money. I mean other than DI it's a pretty mundane V6. Nothing fancy and other than a few WOT romps it never is stressed via towing. If I’m understanding things correctly from messages I’ve sent to David, unless you require the premium VII with an extremely oil taxing engine that requires the extra shear stability the standard line of PCMO is all you need
Just use their PCEO 5W30.OK So I can save a little money. I mean other than DI it's a pretty mundane V6. Nothing fancy and other than a few WOT romps it never is stressed via towing.
Nice oil porn you got there eh
What is your goal for running the no VII?Pretty soon I’ll be putting HPL5w20 no VII in the focus with a prime guard or MC FL-910S filter for 5k oci
Same question for you - why the no VII vs. the normal Euro oil?1993 Volvo 240 sedan, 230,110 miles
2,000 miles on HPL No VII Euro 5W30
Planning a UAO without draining at 6,000 miles
Same, but in my Ram. Nowadays, it takes me almost a year to reach 5K.Pretty soon I’ll be putting HPL5w20 no VII in the focus with a prime guard or MC FL-910S filter for 5k oci
I have a bias towards lower VII oils.Same question for you - why the no VII vs. the normal Euro oil?
The Euro No VII 5W20 has a HT/HS that exceeds most 5W-30 oils - so arguably, there could be an improvement in wear protection in a XW-20 application. What is your goal for running the no VII?
I want in my opinion a oil that proves results. And im happy to support HPL, not some “corporation”What is your goal for running the no VII?
Yes, but why the no-VII vs. the regular HPL stuff? Are you having shearing issues?Goal is changing the oil less often. I hope that will be a 10k OCI.
No reason not to use either Euro or No VII Euro. I’m sure either grade will perform well.
I admit I have a bias towards lower VII oils.
Thank You for saying what I wanted to say sirThe Euro No VII 5W20 has a HT/HS that exceeds most 5W-30 oils - so arguably, there could be an improvement in wear protection in a XW-20 application.
Better HTFS viscosity ... no VIIs to make the temporary full shearing viscosity drop as far. Of course, may not need that unless you're really beating the engine with high RPM ... but call it "headroom".Yes, but why the no-VII vs. the regular HPL stuff? Are you having shearing issues?
