Good afternoon folks. Co worker was asking me this last night. I said probably an outside vendor like Goodyear, Firestone or others. Anyone here know?
Who services U-HAUL , Penske and other large moving trucks etc?

I have a customer who services heavy trucks, and also rents Penske trucks from his shop. So I assume he, and shops like his, services them. He also works on county plow trucks and the like.
No one services them. Based on my rental experience.
Ryder has their own in-house maintenance, Penske should as well. U-Haul does maintenance at their bigger hubs, I’ve noticed “good” (Michelin or General) tires and some kind of a maintenance log on their trucks when I rented them.

As mentioned above - Ryder and Penske have substantial in house shop capacity and offer services to other fleets besides their own.
Where I used to live, I was told U-Haul had a regional corporate who rotated between sites, did maintenance when he was there, and might or might not ever service anything on a schedule. Ryder and Penske had a guy on site at their larger facilities that I knew.
I worked for U-HAUL around 1996. They had and May still have a large shop near Cincinnati Ohio where they serviced all their trucks. This place had a huge parts dept.
Everything was done in house and as fast as possible. For example Every 30k the trucks got new belts. They were still mostly v belts back then.
Instead of loosening things to RNR the belts they cut the old ones off and had a tool to roll the new belts on. Never adjusted them.
Engines were complete with everything mounted ready to go. Alternator,wp,belts etc all on Including the engine wire harness you would unplug the old harness at the firewall and plug the new one in
They had at one time an eBay site where they'd sell nos parts. The oil filters I have for my truck came from on them.

Budget has corporate locations where they service, but I believe they also use some 3rd parties throughout the country. Penske is in-house; they are the best run of all the moving truck lines and typically charge the most for that reason. Budget can be very hit and miss. They use a lot of "dealers," as they call them, sort of like a franchisee, and they aren't known for caring much about the condition or cleanliness of the truck, just getting it on rent.

We actually cleaned the trucks (almost always came in filthy) and made sure they were roadworthy. Did my share of running trucks due for service to the corporate maintenance facility to pick up recently serviced ones in exchange.
