Who uses ATF in their Harley primary?

I have been using Redline MTL in my primary and it works well but have heard some guys use Type F ATF and it works better with the clutch. Any truth to this?

Never tried ATF, but I have used Amsoil 20W-50, Redline MTL, Shell Rotella 15W-40 HDEO, and H-D Formula+. Of them all I prefer the clutch engagement feel provided by Formula+ over everything else...

I've heard of people using ATF and actually some aftermarket tranny makers specify it. Me, personally, I stick with what's recommended. I have used Mobil 1 gear oil, Redline and even Harley's own Formula + with great results. They only oil ever to let me down was Harley's own overpriced and underperforming Syn3. I stay away from it like the plague. You want a notchy and noisy trans? Use Syn3.

I recently switched to ATF in the primary of my FXD. I've found the shifts are a little smoother. It feels like the plates separate better with the ATF versus the 10W40 mc engine oil I was using previously.
